The Committee would like to thank all the residents, adults and children, who turned out on Saturday to help with the estate clean-up. We had our highest number out for many years and this was reflected in how well the estate looked afterwards. We are holding our second estate clean-up of the year on Saturday, April 8th, at 10.30 am. We meet at the playground and depending on numbers, we clean as much of the estate as possible. Just an update for everyone on the cutting down of the first chestnut tree on the green as you enter the estate from Murphystown Way. The Council informed us that unfortunately the first tree had become rotten and needed to be cut down for safety reasons.
After planting flowers at the name stone at the main entrance to the estate, John Barron went out again and did the same at Glencairn Crescent a few days ago. These pretty flowers were planted by John Barron a few days ago, he will be doing the same at the name stone at Glencairn Crescent. He will also be looking after the two plant boxes. Hopefully they will be respected and won’t need too much care. Thanks John for doing this for our estate. 🙂
After years of perseverance by the Residents Association with the Council, they have finally taken responsibility for the area behind the Gallops Luas station. The illegal dumping of green garden waste is a major problem across Dun Laoghaire Rathdown council area and the Gallops is no exception.
