Keeping your pet under control
Dogs must be kept under control and must be accompanied at all times while in a public place. They must either be kept on a lead or trained to “heel”, i.e. remain next to the person walking the dog.
Dog fouling
It is against the law not to clean up after your dog. The fine is €150. Dog poop bags are widely available from many shops for a very low price and are ideal for cleaning up after your dog.
